Powder room makeover

This tiny little bathroom has become my favorite part of the house. I love a before and after! This little powder room was actually once a hallway closet underneath the staircase in the foyer. I love the uniqueness of it and peoples faces when they first see it. It seems so tiny because the ceiling is low. Most men in our family need to duck through the doorway. Because it is so small is was a very cheap little project. I had left over paint from the kitchen and the one light had not been working well so I figured why not. My husband was kind enough to hang some ship lap and patch some holes. After a fresh coat of paint it was complete.

Hopeful and Healing

It has been a crazy few weeks to say the least! Many people have been asking family members or myself how things are going, and how I'm recovering with the social distancing guidelines and all. Honestly things are not going as originally planned but then again that is just the way life is  right now. I don't think anything is going as anyone had planned this spring. I am so thankful that I was able to have my surgery, I was within just a few days of it needing to be canceled, all non emergency surgeries were canceled later that week. I'm Getting stronger and feeling more like myself every week. Thank you for the prayers and meals you have blessed us with the last few weeks.    I can hardly believe how things have changed the last month. I am now doing school at home with Savannah. The first week went really well, but the eye rolling, and" do I have to " comments when I tell her its time to do her school work are now a daily occurrence. I also know...

TIME IS NO LONGER MINE

My child: “Mom!!! I'm hungry, can I have a snack?” Me: “I just gave you a snack.” My child: “But I’m still hungry.” My child: “Mom!!! When is dad coming home?” Me: “He was just in for lunch it will be a while.” *Crash* Me: “Girls what fell?” My child: “Mom she broke the closet door again.” Seconds later... Me: “Get off the kitchen counter we just had lunch I'll get you a snack in a little bit.” Me:“Stop jumping on the sofa!!” Me: “Do not let the dog in he just ran though mud!!!” These our the conversations or things I say almost daily.         Yes my days are filled with breaking up fights, time outs, hugs, laughs, laundry, cleaning up spills, and the list goes on and on. I wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s only  March and at times I’m counting down till they start chopping rye. Something about the excitement of that first harvest of the year makes us all a little excited and happier after a long the winter indoors. Yes, it m...

Yup ill be a farmer boy and you will be the farmer girl. This was the conversation between my husband daughter and nephew this weekend. Like a lot of kids there age to them there dads have really cool jobs. As I sat down to write this the two of them show up at the front door jeans wet and muddy up to the knees and somehow there feet that were now bare also covered in mud. What were you two doing, I asked. Well we found a puddle to wash our boots off in they explained as Austin dumps the water out of his boots. Our daughter was the first of the grandchildren born into the farm followed by my nephew. They both spent several days a week in the barn from the time they were infants till now as did the two that followed. let me just say milking while 39 weeks pregnant is somewhat hilarious to watc...
