            With the weather getting colder and the holidays fast approaching I have been doing a lot more baking. I am not the worlds best cook by a long shot, but I do ok when it comes to baking. There are a few things I bake that my husband and kids love and ask for often, this is one of their favorites. I found this recipe a few months ago and I have made it many times since. I have an aunt who makes the most amazing homemade bread, but I had always been afraid to try it. I always thought it would be to frustrating and time consuming. This recipe though is really simple and easy to make especially with a stand mixer and dough hook.  I do make it slightly different than the recipe says. I use 1 pack of instant yeast and closer to 6 cups of flower but the way the recipe says to make it is just as delicious. I promise you will not be disappointed!

LATE NIGHTS AND A CROWDED TRACTOR

      The words "what should we do", coming out of my husbands mouth as he sat head down looking at the weather app on his phone. I kinda laugh, because let's be honest I knew he was thinking out loud, not actually asking for my  advice  when it came to if they should or shouldn't mow rye. The rye needed mowed now or its going to get old, but if we mow we risk it getting rained on for the next week. Neither option is exactly ideal and can effect the quality when it's turned into feed for the cows. Not long after this conversation I see the mower going past. He came home at 2 am the next morning, he had gotten it all mowed this also meant he had just pulled a 22 hour day. Powder room makeover

  This tiny little bathroom has become my favorite part of the house. I love a before and after! This little powder room was actually once a hallway closet underneath the staircase in the foyer. I love the uniqueness of it and peoples faces when they first see it. It seems so tiny because the ceiling is low. Most men in our family need to duck through the doorway. Because it is so small is was a very cheap little project. I had left over paint from the kitchen and the one light had not been working well so I figured why not. My husband was kind enough to hang some ship lap and patch some holes. After a fresh coat of paint it was complete.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR

     Fear, unknown, constant changes. Not words I typically think of when talking about going back to school. Never did I think I would consider homeschooling, but I found myself doing just that. I have the mindset to do what works best for your family and children. Nothing against homeschooling and props to moms who can do it, but for us, that was never something we considered before. While realizing I'm so blessed to be in a spot where I can be home and choose from any of the options our district gave,  it was not an easy decision to make. Once we made our decision guidelines changed and once again we found ourselves wondering if we made the right choice. With some offering in-person, or online a combination of both, or online only its overwhelming. I feel so much for families who both parents are working full time, for the teachers and administrators who have to constantly change things and make decisions only to have to turn around and change things again.
